1915 - Selling vegetables during the war

Then the spring again 1915. Put 5 acres to garden produce, 5 acres with oats for horse feed then cry went out to the people "put every foot of ground you can to garden stuff". Well ploughs were put in every vacant lot no matter how small. What did this mean to me. Well very near everybody had vegetables of their own and I could not sell till away in January 1916. I lost quite a lot of stuff through freezing, people would not buy it to store it themselves they said it would freeze on their hands. I had no where to keep it either. What basement I did have under my house I filled so I received another knock out.
